Question: How much Zeobrite do I use in my sand filter? Added: 5/11/2006 Category: Using Zeobrite Views: 5032 Answer: Zeobrite weighs half as much as sand per cubic foot. Sand weighs approximately 100lbs per cubic foot. Zeobrite weighs approximately 50lbs per cubic foot. Therefore, a sand filter that holds 300 lbs of sand would require 150lbs of Zeobrite. The 150lbs of Zeobrite will fill the sand filter to approximately the same volume level as 300lbs of sand. Please refer to the Media Requirement Chart in our Zeobrite Installation Guide for the replacement amount used in some of the most common residential size pool filters.
