Question: I have a silver/copper/zinc purification system. Can I use Zeobrite with it?

Answer:
Yes, Zeobrite can be used with any of the ion systems. We engineered Zeobrite to have a higher capacity, or attraction, for ammionia ions and less attraction for the metal ions such as silver, copper and zinc. Some products that are similar to Zeobrite make claims of having the highest cation exchange capacity of any product on the market. Although that statement may be true, we found that a high cation exchange capacity in a zeolite mineral rock, which is the technical name for Zeobrite, can actually remove the beneficial silver, copper, etc. from the water and bond it to the media. These beneficial ions are meant to be dissolved in the water and work by having long-term contact wtih algae, bacteria, etc. If the ions are removed from the water and held in the media, the contact time of the water flowing through the filter is not enough to make them effective.
